Tidens Anleten (Faces of Time) by Sammy Stein

A long and handsomely published volume from Lagon Revue editor Sammy Stein, published in Swedish by ATOP favorite Lystring Forlag. Originally published in French as "Visages du Temps" from Editions Matiere, this book comes with a nicely printed English translation pamphlet.

In 17 stories of varying length, according to stagings which are as many proposals for installations, sculptures, images and concepts, Sammy Stein offers to walk through imaginary museums  ("The Turtle  Museum",   "Crye Museum")    , to visit dreamed collections ("Facsion of the Time", "Multiworld"), pays homage to   an artist whose extirpation ofhis artifacts  ("Gallery  128",  "Back to the  center"), describes an impossible work   ("Fireworks"),       observes the process of transforming one form into another ("Mooving sculpture", "Camouflage", "Bye bye Dada"), and even evokes fantastic cooking recipes  ("The Great  Restaurant", episodes 1 and 2).

With a fantasy like no other, Sammy Stein drapes of polyamide and viscose origins of vast melancholy monuments, suggests under titles full of emphasis all works of modesty ... So much Sammy Stein elaborates and then modestly destroys the memento mori of a time that no one has known or will know.
